The participants of the second part of the training course within the framework of “Community Expert” small grant program got acquainted with the local government bodies and their activities: “What is a local government: Participation and its types”.

The course was conducted by Vahe Khachikyan. It should be mentioned, that the program is implemented by one of the participants of “Youth Participation in Policy Development Processes” Hamlet Khachatryan. The participants got an idea of the local self-government system, functions, ways, and means of citizen participation in the decision-making process, and community management information system.

In the previous courses, the young people got acquainted with the methods of identifying and formulating community issues, gathering information, and types of fundraising through theoretical materials and practical work.

According to the participants of the training, they formed a clear idea about the local self-governments, the forms of active and passive participation, and the possibilities of using the latest communication tools. New meetings and initiatives are planned within the framework of the program.

The aim of the “Community Expert” program is to develop young people’s abilities and participatory skills in the field of local self-government.
