Hamlet Khachatryan, a participant of the training “Youth Participation in policy-making processes” is implementing a small “Community Expert” grant project in Sevan community, Gegharkunik region, within the framework of the “DATA. Data for Accountable and Transparent Action” program. The mentioned program gave an opportunity to the youth of Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik, Tavush, Shirak, Vayots Dzor marzes of the Republic of Armenia to put into practice their abilities, knowledge, and skills acquired as a result of the courses.

The purpose of the “Community Expert” program is to develop young people’s abilities and participatory skills in the field of local self-government. 14 young people aged 13-17 from the communities adjacent to the city of Sevan participate in the program. In the first course, conducted by Zara Lavchyan, a youth expert, the participants got acquainted with the principles of non-formal education, its importance for the development of the person and capacity building, the mechanisms of volunteering, participation։. Within the framework of the program, several training courses will be conducted, as well as a meeting with the community authorities.


 “DATA: Data for Accountable and Transparent Action” program is implemented with the support of DATA Consortium (Eurasia Partnership Foundation, SOCIES Expertise Center, Bun TV Foundation, Youth Cooperation Center of Dilijan NGO, SOSE Women’s Issues NGO) in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)).
