Within the framework of “DATA. Data for Accountable and Transparent Action” program, the “Community Expert” small grant program continues in the town of Sevan, Gegharkunik region, under the leadership of Hamlet Khachatryan, a participant of the “Youth Participation in Policy Development Processes” course.

The aim of the program is to develop the capacity of young people and participatory skills in the field of local self-government. 14 young people aged 13-17 from the nearby communities of Sevan city participate in the program. During the regular training, the young people got acquainted with identifying community issues and their SMART tool for mapping, problem-solving, information gathering methods, types of fundraising, and the structure of grant programs. Through hands-on activities, participants gained knowledge and skills in pooling resources in their communities, formulating problems and ways to solve them through initiatives. Young people consider their participation in this program important, as they already realize the role of their potential in overcoming community problems and raising civic awareness. New meetings and initiatives are planned within the framework of the program.
