In Lernapat community of Lori region, “Your Right” small grant program is going on, which is implemented by Lianna Abazyan, a participant of the “Youth Participation in Policy Development Processes” training course. 16 young people aged 16-27 participating in the project, who are from Lernapat and Vahagn communities, got acquainted with the participation of the residents in the field of local self-government, the structure of local self-government, and functions, the current ways to apply to local governments about problems. In order to carry out an awareness campaign among the population envisaged by the program, the young people wrote their messages on several dozen shopping bags for the participation of citizens in the local self-government on the functions of local governments. Bags and candies will be distributed by young people in their communities, seeking to increase their participation in local government. According to the participating youth, this program provides an opportunity to make behavioral changes in their communities, and try to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. The young people will also meet with local government representatives to discuss issues related to communities.
