The aim of the meeting was to improve the grant proposals submitted by the project participants with the support of consultants, to discuss budgeting and other issues. Once the program proposals are approved, they will be implemented to improve public policies at the community level, increase public participation in the decision-making process, and develop local-resident cooperation.<\/p>\n
The participants, who represent different communities of Tavush region, working with consultants-experts, were able to plan their ideas more clearly, develop more realistic actions, and make a preliminary version of the budget.<\/p>\n
Soon the program packages will be reviewed by the implementing organizations, and the ambitious projects will be funded and implemented.<\/p>\n
It should be added that only the graduates of Local Democracy School, who received certificates of graduation during this meeting, submitted grant applications.<\/p>\n
It should be reminded, that the program ideas should correspond to the transparency, accountability of local self-government activities, ensuring the participation of residents in local self-government, human rights and democracy, the activity of local self-government in epidemic conditions, social solidarity in communities, cultural diversity and other directions.<\/p>\n
The program is implemented within the framework of \u201cLocal Democracy School\u201d.<\/p>\n
Introduction – The aim of the project is to train active and democratic young professionals in the communities of the Republic of Armenia who will have the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of local self-government and related operational areas, where they will play a significant role in implementing public administration reforms.<\/p>\n
Local Democracy School is implemented within the framework of the USAID-funded by \u201cPublic Participation in Local Government program\u201d.<\/p>\n
