On December 14-18, about 25 young people from Tavush region participated in the first phase of \u201cSchool of Local Democracy\u201d project. The experts conducted courses on structure, features, functions and authorizations of local self-government, law-based governance, centralization of governance and critical thinking during a three-day online course. At the end of each training, the experts gave tasks to the participants with different situations and questions to find out how they could find ways and solutions out of.<\/p>\n
The participants believe that the participation of citizens in decision-making processes in community daily life is not sufficient, as there is a low trust towards the activities and awareness of local self-government bodies. They also believe, that a well-informed citizen can unite others and make the connection between society and local self-government bodies more effective. That is why, they were curious to participate in this unique training. Training has several phases yet, and the participants will have studies about the budget and economic development of the community, on the monitoring of community and development projects, and similar important topics.<\/p>\n
